Check Your Tires

Autumn is a great time to get your vehicle ready for the cold weather that’s on its way. By having your car serviced in the fall, you’ll be ahead of almost everyone else. Many people wait until the first hint of winter weather in the forecast to scurry into their dealership to have their car winterized. However, there are also some maintenance checks and tasks you can do yourself. Take a look at the items that you should have on your auto maintenance checklist this fall.

Check Your Tires

First, you can do a visual inspection to check for wear and damage. If you don’t have a tire pressure gauge, this is a good time to get one. Because tires tend to lose pressure when the temperature drops, you’ll want to check the tire pressure every week or two. The fall is also a good time to get your hands on snow tires if you live in an area that sees significant bouts of wintry precipitation. When you take your car to the dealership, ask them to rotate and balance your tires if it’s been six months since you last had this done.
