Germano Kountz joined our team of technicians a few months ago and has fit right in! He is originally from Northern California and has been in the Concord/Lake Norman area since October 2012. What brought him to our lovely Southern state? Same reason we see a lot of Northerners, and retirees from Florida: "North Carolina is a great state. The people are so nice and much more friendly than California. I am always impressed when someone stops to let me in on the highway and I've now gotten the habit of waving to my neighbors as I drive through the neighborhood," says Germano. He has even adopted some local customs and attended the last Coca Cola 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. "My friend from Cali flew in and we tailgated before and after the race, it was fun," says Germano.

Germano was a natural born mechanic. "I've always been really good at fixing things. As a teenager, before I could drive, I worked on dirt bikes and anything with a motor that I could get my hands on. My first car was a '58 Chevy Apache that I built. I bought a 4 wheel-drive Chevy Blazer and used its frame to convert the Apache into a 4 wheel-drive Blazer with a Corvette engine! I loved it, I had a lot of fun and have some great memories driving that around town," relates Germano.

Schooling was automotive focused for Germano. He attended college for automotive repair and electrical engineering. He has experience working on most every make and model, and of course he is very happy to be working on Subaru vehicles. "My favorite thing about the auto industry is learning new things as technology and engineering advancements are made," says Germano. We are happy to have Germano on our team of expert technicians and hope our customers enjoy meeting him!
