Bringing the Subaru Love Promise to Life in our Community

Community Support Eligibility & Request Guidelines

Community is at the heart of everything we do. As a locally owned Subaru retailer, we believe in showing up for the people and organizations who strengthen Cabarrus and Rowan Counties. That commitment is more than a program - it's a promise.

We're grateful for the nonprofits who do the daily work of care, connection and long term impact. And because we take that responsibility seriously, we focus our support on established, mission driven organizations with a clear purpose, a proven track record, and a demonstrated commitment to the communities we share.

Eligibility for Support

To ensure our contributions make the greatest impact, we partner exclusively with registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving Cabarrus and Rowan Counties. All organizations must be in good standing with both the IRS and the Secretary of State in North Carolina.

To be considered, requests must be submitted in writing and include:

  • Current 501(c)(3) determination letter
  • Proof of good standing with the NC Secretary of State
  • Your mission statement and who you serve
  • A brief history of your programs, community activation, and documented impact
  • Links to an active website and social media channels

We focus on established organizations with a demonstrated record of service. While we appreciate every effort to strengthen our community, we are not able to support individuals, start ups without documented activity, or nonprofits that are not in compliance with state or federal requirements. We also look for partners with a broad base of support, as we cannot serve as a sole or primary source of funding.

Our goal is simple: to invest in nonprofits that are already making a measurable difference in the communities we proudly call home.

Veterans Bridge Home

On February 11th, Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord presented the proceeds from the 2024 fundraising campaign to Veterans Bridge Home (VBH) at Subaru South Charlotte. This is the third year for this campaign that has generated not only $70,000 in monetary support directly to VBH, but also $85,000 in media support to spread awareness of this non-profit's mission. Last year VBH supported 3,656 veteran families with 8,617 different services across the Carolinas, (1,569 families and 4,443 services in the Charlotte Metro market alone). Since their founding, VBH has served more than 22,000 veterans with more than 51,000 unique services.

If you are a Veteran in need of assistance, or if you would like to offer your support to VBH, please contact them directly at 866-249-6656 or veteransbridgehome.org.

As part of the Subaru Love Promise, we are proud to offer support to this organization!

Spreading Warmth and Love: Subaru Concord Visits The Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County

Imagine needing a coat but having none. For millions experiencing homelessness and urgent need, including right here in Cabarrus County, this harsh reality hits home. Helping others strengthens our community, which is why Subaru Concord supports those in need. As part of our Subaru Loves to Help® initiative, we're partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit dedicated to connecting children with essential resources.

On January 16th, Subaru Concord visited The Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County, distributing over 500 brand-new coats to children. By year's end, Subaru and retailers like us will have provided more than 130,000 children nationwide with crucial items that ensure they stay warm, dry, and protected-enhancing their mental and emotional well-being.

Subaru is proud to be Operation Warm's largest automotive supporter. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers will have assisted nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need so far.

The Boys & Girls Club received a variety of coats with fleece linings and deep pockets, available in multiple colors and sizes. Subaru Concord staff were on hand to help children select their new coats.

"We are thrilled to partner with Operation Warm, fulfilling an immediate need in our community by providing warm coats to children served by The Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County," said Bill Musgrave, Retailer, Subaru South Charlotte and Subaru Concord. "These items make a significant difference in a child's life, enabling them to attend school and participate in activities rather than sitting out due to lack of essential clothing. No child should ever face such circumstances."

Operation Warm manufactures coats, shoes, and socks to the highest industry standards, ensuring that kids love how they look and feel.

Western NC Relief Effort

Subaru Concord is committed to providing long-term support to our western NC neighbors - think of it as a "marathon" rather than a "sprint." While there's a lot of generosity happening right now, we understand that over time, the urgency may fade before all the needs are fully met.

That's why we're dedicated to staying engaged and offering continuous help for as long as it's needed.

We're ready to accept large quantities of donations and ensure they're safely stored and transported to those in need. If you'd like to contribute, we're asking you to bring new, unopened items like:

  • Paper towels
  • Diapers (all sizes)
  • Baby formula
  • Baby and adult wipes
  • First aid supplies
  • Cleaning supplies (Clorox wipes, brushes, rubber gloves, large trash bags)

Items can be dropped off at our dealership during regular business hours. As our vans and trucks fill up, we will deliver these essential items to support our Western North Carolina neighbors.

Subaru Loves to Care

This is our 8th year delivering warmth and hope to our neighbors and their families who are receiving treatment at Atrium Health's Levine Cancer Institute in Concord. In addition to providing warm blankets, we also deliver message of hope cards and patient care kits that include activities and items to help provide comfort during what can be long visits. In partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, we look forward to donating these items each year and letting those battling cancer know that we care through the #SubaruLovesToCare pillar of the Subaru Love Promise.

3rd Annual Veterans Bridge Home Campaign

Veterans Bridge Home has become the most comprehensive Veteran-serving organization in our region.

Since 2022, we have been providing support to this non-profit by raising awareness of their mission through paid media campaigns and with a donation made possible by allocating a set dollar amount per vehicle sold. This year's campaign runs from now through Veterans Day.

How does your support help us help VBH?  Many Veterans earn just enough to be excluded from receiving help from public assistance programs but are still at risk for homelessness - having to choose between a car repair, food or a family emergency, rent or mortgage payments.

In addition to repeating last year's media campaign to help Veterans learn more about the services VBH offers, we will also, for the third year make a donation based on vehicle sales.
