Service Tip of the Month - July

Battery failure is more than an inconvenience. It can leave you stranded, contribute to lost time at work and result in costly towing in the event your vehicle cannot be repaired at its current location. While the battery equipped in your Subaru is considered maintenance free, it still requires some attention to maintain its cleanliness and efficiency. The battery's chemicals can cause acid buildup on its positive and negative terminals. That corrosion can diminish conductivity and prevent the starter from operating.

Summer time can also reduce the life of your battery. Summer heat and the extra electrical load of the AC and cooling fans are extremely hard on a battery. It is important to have your battery checked regularly by a Subaru-trained technician. Our service experts look for loose or corroded connections that can greatly reduce your car's starting power - and in some cases, can completely shut off your car's electrical flow.

In addition, our Subaru Battery Diagnostic Service allows a quick assessment of the health of your battery. You receive a full report detailing how much life remains in your battery, if your battery needs a recharge or if your battery requires replacement altogether.
